Chill Out!
Essential oils belonging to the mint family – especially those with higher percentages of menthol, such as peppermint – will help make the body feel cooler. Without getting too deep into the chemistry lesson, menthol has the ability to trick receptors in the brain into thinking that the body is cooler than it really is. This is also true for Eucalyptus Oil thanks to its eucalyptol, which acts in a similar way.
Peppermint Essential Oil contains a significant amount of menthol. Besides its cooling sensation, menthol is known to help relax, ease tension headaches, as well as muscular aches and pains. Despite the relaxing properties, however, Peppermint Oil is quite stimulating and may interfere with sleeping. Although Peppermint Oil contains significantly more menthol, some prefer the aroma of Spearmint Oil. You can find Spearmint Oil in WHAT BLEND
Eucalyptus Oil acts as a pleasing alternative or complement to Peppermint and Spearmint Oils in cooling blends. In addition to its ability to provide a cooling sensation, Eucalyptus Essential Oils contain a significant quantity of the oxide 1,8-Cineole, which is said to act as both an anti-inflammatory as well as an expectorant.
